It's NXGN election week
YOU vote for YOUR UK committee
It’s a really big week for NXGN. Members get to choose who the inaugural NXGN committee will be, and we have 15 shortlisted UK candidates.
Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that applied to be on the committee. To offer to give your time to sort out healthtech and biotech for the next generation is a truly honourable thing to do, so I, for one, hugely appreciate it, and I’m sure all the members do too.
If you didn’t get shortlisted, please do stay involved and badger the incoming committee for a role if you want to help out! And for those that applied from the West coast of the US, India, South Africa, Spain and other countries, the only reason I couldn’t get a committee going for you guys is that there just weren’t enough applicants… YET.
If the incoming committee get this right (no pressure 👀), there’s nothing stopping us getting to 5, 10 or even more countries this time next year.
For the UK and the US (East coast), things just got interesting!
The US (East coast)
Starting my update with the US because it’s a lot more straightforward. I’ve messaged those that were shortlisted and they were NYC-based. If they accept, I’ll meet them virtually next week to get this one going. Exciting.
The UK
This is where it gets interesting. Below are the 15 shortlisted candidates.
You’ll see short statements on their backgrounds and their vision for NXGN. The field is extremely competitive.
Members will be sent a separate email straight after this with a link to vote for their top three choices, who get 5 points, 3 points and 1 point respectively, with top scorers being declared at the end of next week.
If you’re a free subscriber and want to upgrade to become a voting member, go for it - I’ll send out the voting system again to members on Tuesday so that anyone that joins as a full member between now and then will also get the email with instructions on how to vote.
Once all the votes are in, the top 5 will be offered officer positions. They will have the opportunity to select their junior committee members out of the applicants and NXGN will come alive with its first event.
